Invite Beta Testers with a TestFlight Public Link

Invite Beta Testers with a TestFlight Public Link

The most eagerly anticipated Test Flight feature is now accessible. This feature can effectively act as a restricted open invitation that allows up to 10,000 external testers to obtain your beta build through a shareable public link. It is simple to create the link in App Store Connect. Then, according to whatever build they want the testers to have visibility into, developers may divide them into groups. Users only need to get to the link on their iPhone or iPad to become part of the beta testing team using the Test Flight app.

The new feature’s transparency does not suggest an uncontrolled free-for-all. A developer needs to be an administrator or app manager if they want to turn on the link in the first place. The number of testers who are allowed to use a public link can be limited once it has been activated for an external test group on the app’s Test Flight page. The public link can also be turned off at any time.

Up to 10,000 testers can be invited with just their e-mail addresses or a public invitation link.

How to Create a “Test Flight” Public Beta Link?

The following steps:-

We will walk you through these with the screenshots mentioned below. Access the Apple App Store Connect website first, i.e., http://appstoreconnect.apple.com

Step 1: After logging in, go to the App > Test Flight Section to view all of your builds

Step 2: Click on External Testing.

“By selecting “Add External Testers,” you can add If a group has already been created, look at the image because the new group button will be visible.

Step 3: Now create a new group and click “Create.”

Step 4: Click on the Tester Option as mentioned in the below image. From there, you can add a new tester, add existing testers, and import from a CSV.

Step 5: Add a new tester by providing an email address, first name, and last name.

Step 6: Now click on the “Builds” section.

Step 7: To add a build for which a public link needs to be created for sharing, click the Builds+ button.

Step 8: Click “Add” after selecting the proper build.

Step 9: A public link is generated. Using this link, you may either cop, remove, or establish a maximum number of testers who can download.

The build that is being used by this tester group must first get Apple’s approval for external testers in order to have the “Enable Public Link” option available.

This typically indicates that you are responsible for providing all of the testing-related data and then waiting for the testers to look over it. You are going to see the option under the appropriate group once they have given their approval.
